Four Winter Activities in the Tri-Cities

As Beedie Living gears up to invite homebuyers and homeowners to Crown in West Coquitlam’s emerging Burquitlam neighbourhood, we want to share a few winter activities you can enjoy with your family.

Coquitlam Farmers’ Market

The Coquitlam Farmers’ Market serves the Tri-Cities every Sunday at the Port Moody Recreation Complex. Stop by for local produce between 10am and 2pm. Go to the website and sign up for an e-blast that will give you a weekly list of vendors. (The market also runs in the summer at Dogwood Pavilion in Coquitlam).

Festive du Bois – Maillardville’s Music Festival

‘Get your French Canadian on’ at Festival du Bois in Coquitlam’s historic Maillardville. From February 26 to March 1, enjoy the largest francophone festival in the west. Festival du Boise is synonymous with tradition and highlights the French Canadian pioneers of Maillardville. Learn about the village, enjoy French performances, authentic cuisine and participate in fun activities.

Coquitlam Heritage Society

The Coquitlam Heritage Society and historic Mackin House host a number of events year-round. Mackin House was built in 1909 and was home to some of the most prominent members of the lumber industry. Click this link for a complete list of events.

The Great Outdoors

Port Coquitlam’s first new trails in five years opened recently and they are already popular! Pedestrians and cyclists have taken to the two trails linking Hyde Creek Recreation Centre and Minnekhada Middle School. They are off Hickory and Newberry streets. Dogs love them, too!
