Getting Involved in Vancouver's UDI (Urban Development Institute) Pacific Region

Beedie Development Group has a long history of community involvement in many capacities, from philanthropy and corporate sponsorship to company support and encouragement of all our employees to get involved in the betterment of our respective communities. One of the most important institutions to the business we work in day-in and day-out is the Urban Development Institute (UDI) Pacific Region, a non-profit organization affiliated with the international Urban Development Institute. From architects, urban planners, and construction companies to appraisers, agents, and environmental consultants, the UDI provides an inclusive and non-partisan space for all sides of the "real estate" industry to come together to ensure our cities are built in the most efficient, effective, and responsible way possible.

Always keen to be involved in such a prolific organization in our industry, Beedie Living Vice President Houtan Rafii previously served as Vice-Chair of the Under 40 (U40) division of UDI and was recently honoured to be named as the incoming Chair. As Chair, Houtan is thrilled to be engaged in an even greater capacity with this integral and diverse group of tomorrow's real estate leaders. Additionally, Curtis Neeser, Beedie Living's Director of Residential Development, has been highly involved with the U40 committee. All of us at Beedie Living would like to congratulate Houtan on his new position as Chair and wish him much success in the coming year.

Houtan and Curtis are not, however, the first Beedie team members to strengthen UDI. Our President, Ryan Beedie, previously served on the UDI's Board of Directors, helping to guide professional members in the shaping of urban development and environmental policy in Metro Vancouver.

The UDI Pacific Region truly seeks to foster inclusive communication between real estate professionals, all levels of government, and the public. For that, Ryan - and now Curtis and Houtan - are honoured to be involved.
