Ten Summer Activities from Vancouver to the Sea-to-Sky

With a city as gorgeous as Vancouver and beyond, there’s no need to go away this summer. Here’s a list of activities to enjoy in Vancouver and across the Sea-to-Sky.

Sea-to-Sky Gondola

The Sea-to-Sky Gondola is one of BC’s newest and most popular attractions. Take a ride and enjoy some of most breathtaking mountainous views, including The Chief and Shannon Falls.

Farmers Markets

There are quite a few farmers markets in and around Vancouver. In addition to delicious fresh produce, many also sell frozen fish and meat, making them the perfect place to pick up all the ingredients you need for a fresh, locally-sourced BBQ.

Squamish Valley Music Festival

This is hottest music festival near Vancouver. This year’s lineup includes Drake, Mumford & Sons, Sam Smith, Kaskade and more. Buy your tickets now because the festival is bound to sell out fast!

Dragon Boat Festival

The annual Dragon Boat Festival at Creekside Olympic Village brings out thousands of spectators for a world-class dragon boat racing event. There is also a colourful opening ceremony, food and shopping!

Vancouver Jazz Festival

One of Vancouver’s premiere festivals, the annual jazz festival is full of jazz, blues, creative and improvised music and the festival is growing every year.

Grouse Grind

The Grind is a must for hikers in Vancouver. If you’re a veteran, maybe this is the year to beat your time! Once you finish the steep 2.9km hike, grab a beer at one of the restaurants at the top and then enjoy the view as you ride down in the gondola.

12 Minutes Max

The Dance Centre’s show, 12 Minutes Max, showcases five eclectic contemporary dance works each lasting 12 minutes or less, by some of Vancouver's most talented and innovative choreographers. The performance showcases many emerging dance artists.

Stanley Park Seawall

Stanley Park’s seawall is one of the most beautiful (and popular!) places to run or bike in the city. Grab your exercise gear and enjoy the fresh air and spectacular view.

Richmond Night Market

Find great food and entertainment at Vancouver’s largest outdoor market. There’s no way you’ll see it all in one visit, so plan to come back throughout the summer!
